What's this DT Draft Blog all about?
The DT Draft Blog is a one-man show about the NFL draft, college prospects and pro football in general. I am by no means an expert, this is purely a hobby of mine that I decided to take another step further. I've been a lifelong football fan and over the years I've read and researched enough about the sport that I felt like writing about it, simple as that.
Am I an expert? No. I'm just a fan who enjoys doing this type of stuff. I'm not going to act like I know everything or know more than the next guy. This is all meant to be a fun, easy hobby for me to do in my spare time. I plan on employing the KISS method (no, not the friggin' band), but the idea of "keep it simple, stupid."
There are a plethora of websites and resources for the draft these days as the event has grown massively in recent years. This is just my little corner of the web to share my thoughts and information in a straightforward style. If you're looking for metrics, analytics and other types of unique statistics you won't find it here. I'm an objective fan who is trying his hand at film scouting. I plan to just keep it as simple as possible and build a draft board made from my own reviews and see where I stack up against the professionals that do this for a living.
I have a lot of respect for the guys that do this, they are athletically gifted people who can do things most normal folks can't. At the end of the day it is a game made for entertainment but it takes a daunting amount of work and skill to be able to do this, which is why they get rewarded pretty handsomely for it. There is a massive amount of pressure on every player and coach to win and it takes 100% dedication to their craft if they want to be successful and survive in what is one of the most cutthroat businesses in the world.
Aside from all of that, I am personally a fan of the Buffalo Bills. Yes, I was around to see the four Super Bowl losses and endure the endless mocking that has been going on since then. Yes, I'm aware the team hasn't had a solid quarterback since Jim Kelly. Yes, I am aware they haven't made it to the playoffs in 15 years. It doesn't matter to me. It's the hometown team, the team I grew up watching and cheering with my family. People who are fans of the sport in general understand that when you find your team, you can't find that edge of your seat feeling with any other team. You're invested in them, they evoke emotion from you, whether it's wanting to do backflips over a last minute game-winning touchdown or wanting to whip the TV remote through the wall because they blew it again! At the end of the day, it's all supposed to be fun, and that's what I'm trying to do here on this site, just have some fun with the whole thing.
That's all I've got for now. I may add some more stuff as I go along or refine this page later but I wanted to get something in this space to fill out the site.
